OWNER RESOURCES

Operate every implement safely.

Review these field-ready checks before setup, operation, service, or transport. This guide supports safe daily use and does not replace the model-specific operator’s manual.

Field Safety

Six safety checks before every job.

Use this as a field-ready checklist for tillage, harrow, and land-forming implements. Always follow the operator’s manual for your specific model.

The five absolute safety rules illustrated: engine off and key out, PTO guard in place, no riders, stay clear of rotating parts, and lock and light before road transport.
Owner Safety Playbook

The job, step by step.

A practical field workflow for setup, operation, clearing, transport, and service — from the first walk-around to covered storage.

STEP 01Pre-Job Check

Before You Start

Operator holding a checklist beside a farm implement during a pre-job walk-around inspection.

Walk around the implement before connecting, lifting, or starting.

Confirm all guards, shields, and the PTO driveline cover are in place and undamaged.
  • Read the operator’s manual for the specific model.
  • Check hitch pins, lynch pins, hydraulic hoses, and wear points.
  • Keep all bystanders well clear of the machine.
STEP 02PTO Setup

Hitching & PTO

Close inspection of a tractor three-point hitch and PTO driveline connection.

Match the tractor, hitch, and PTO speed before operation.

Never operate with the PTO shield removed or a missing driveline guard.
  • Match the three-point hitch category to your tractor.
  • Match PTO speed — 540 or 1000 RPM — to the implement.
  • Engage the PTO at low engine RPM, then bring up to speed gradually.
STEP 03Field Operation

While Operating

A single seated tractor operator working a field with no riders present.

One operator. No riders. No shortcuts.

Stay in the seat — never allow riders on the tractor or implement.
  • Lower the implement and set working depth gradually.
  • Slow down for obstacles, headlands, slopes, and uneven ground.
  • Disengage the PTO before raising the implement or making sharp turns.
STEP 04Zero Energy

Clearing & Adjusting

A stopped machine with the key removed and a hand kept away from the rotor area while clearing material.

Shut everything down before touching the implement.

Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for all rotating parts to come to a complete stop.
  • Never reach into rotor housings, disc gangs, or augers while powered.
  • Use the correct tools — not hands or feet — to clear material.
  • Restart only after guards are replaced and the area is clear.
STEP 05Road Transport

Transport & Road

A folded implement with transport lock engaged, ready for movement on the road.

Secure the implement before moving onto roads.

Never transport with the PTO engaged.
  • Lock the lift and use transport locks before moving on roads.
  • Display SMV emblem, lights, and flashers where required.
  • Reduce speed and account for the implement’s width and weight.
STEP 06Service & Storage

Maintenance & Storage

Wrench, grease gun, and shield inspection on an implement prepared for covered storage.

Service only when the implement is lowered, disconnected, and stable.

Lower the implement and disconnect the PTO before any service.
  • Follow lubrication intervals for gearbox oil and bearing grease.
  • Inspect blades, discs, tines, pins, and shields; replace worn parts promptly.
  • Keep safety decals clean and legible; store under cover when possible.
Model-specific manuals. Every WeCan implement ships with an operator’s manual covering setup, adjustment, lubrication intervals, and torque specifications. Owners and dealers can request a replacement copy through Contact.
